Job Description

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation. Position Overview: This position in the Capital Policy, Planning, Management, and Analytics Team will be responsible for liaising all capital-related issues and projects supporting the overall team, this includes conducting and engaging with other stakeholders to ensure timely deliverables, partnering with internal functions such as FP&A and DFAST for forecasting and stress capital impact purposes. One of the key objectives is to provide support to ensure the successful, controlled, and well governed timely execution of Freddie Mac’s Capital Policy and Plan. This role will provide significant exposure to senior management, and will partner extensively with colleagues across Finance, Business Functions, Risk, Regulatory Affairs, in addition to other functions and lines of businesses. Additionally, the role requires strong analytical, project management, writing and communication skills. The candidate will work on initiatives that will provide a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of both Freddie’s business as well as the newly updated capital regulatory requirements and planning framework. In addition, the candidate will gain significant exposure to stress testing, business lines, capital optimization, and forecasting. Our Impact: The Capital Planning division is responsible for the planning, reporting, forecasting, and optimization of capital. The team focuses on the oversight of all aspects of capital management, capital planning and elements related to risk appetite and capital contingency, in addition to strategic and policy initiatives. The team’s activities are focused on both business-as-usual and stress environments and link closely with other areas within the Finance function including Financial Planning, Analysis and Stress Testing, Single Family and Multi-Family Business units. Our team: * Collaborates with the division finance areas as well as division risk officers (DROs) in the implementation of the recently enacted Enterprise Capital Rule and coordinates associated regulatory submissions, including conservatorship capital reporting. * Provide the analysis and execution of the Capital Policy and Capital Planning Documents * Monitor and assess Early Warning Indicators for purposes of Capital Contingency Planning * Provide analysis and metrics for senior management for purposes of stakeholder meetings * Drives the optimization of capital in partnership with other areas within Finance and the business areas to improve the systems and processes currently utilized to perform these activities. * Develops the strategies and tools to accurately measure and optimize capital capacity and ratios and related measures. Capital Planning is a new group recently created reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and this is an excellent and exciting opportunity to be part of a results-driven team that will implement Freddie Mac’s Capital Planning and Management Strategy during its build-out phase. Your Impact: As a member of the Capital Planning Team in this program manager role you will: * Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement * Collaborate with key stakeholders within various functions to problem-solve and deliver * Help develop and manage new governance, controls, and tracking processes focused on effective management of overall capital objectives * Work with cross functional teams to determine successful outcomes and remediation efforts * Manage relationships with both external and internal stakeholders * Lead the project management scope of capital-related deliverables * Work on initiatives that will provide a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key business attributes related to capital planning, management, analytics, and forecasting * Collaborate with fellow team members and other participants within Capital Management, Stress Testing, others in the Finance organization as well as the Risk organization (second line) * Maintain and execute against detailed plans and policy decisions * Demonstrate understanding of internal business segments (stakeholders) * Create presentations for senior management, Board of Directors and regulators * Work within a fast-paced, engaging, and dynamic environment Qualifications: * Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience * Prior work experience in areas related to capital, finance, analytics, management or banking with top tier firm with focus on capital planning and management is strongly preferred * Strong communication and strategic thinking skills to engage with senior leadership * Strong proven business analysis competency and abstract problem-solving skills * Highly results-drive and time efficient individual, with a passion to learn * Ability to deliver positive change in complex orga
