Job DescriptionLancashire Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center with Virginia Health Services is hiring aCertified Occupational Therapist AssistantinKilmarnock, VA. This position is PRN with the possibility of becoming Full Time.The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant has the following responsibilities: Assisting in screening and performing discrete portions of initial evaluations of all residents.Implementing treatment for residents assigned by the VHRA OTR for whom a treatment plan has been developed.Providing appropriate, goal oriented, delivery of treatment to achieve identified objectives.Maintaining appropriate documentation of progress toward identified objectives.Communicating resident status and needs to the resident, the resident’s family, the staff and other professionals.Establishing and maintaining courteous and helpful interaction patterns with staff, resident, and families which reflect sensitivity to individual needs and a problem-solving approach.Actively assisting in educating staff, other healthcare professionals, and the general community about occupational therapy and VHRA services on a consistent basis.Attending facility resident care, utilization review, marketing, administrative staff/department head, and family conference committee meetings as directed by the occupational therapist.Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other health care professionals and colleagues in the community.Maintaining awareness of change in resident populations, resident conditions and programs.Adhering to established facility policies and procedures related to environmental safety, orderliness, risk management, infection control and emergency situations.Requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.Must hold a AOTCB certificate for Occupational Therapy Assistants.Must hold a valid state license (where appropriate.)Must show evidence of a current satisfactory physical examination and/or evidence of freedom from communicable diseases, where required by the state.Must be capable of easily lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.Must have the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during at least an 8 hours day/shift.Why join Virginia Health Services?
